Years in prison:
9
Year of crime:
1988-1990
Year conviction was overturned:
2003

Andreas Findley was convicted of conspiracy to rob following a series of robberies and attempted robberies at sub-post offices. Evidence against him came from disputed verbal admissions said to have been made by him when arrested at home and when in a police car. On appeal, evidence was introduced to suggest that the officers involved were corrupt and dishonest. There was no sufficient unsullied evidence to sustain the conviction and on that basis the appeal was allowed.
