Afzal and Azhil Khan and Waqar Ahmed were convicted of the murder of Isaiah Young-Sam primarily based on confessions. It was discovered that a secret recording of one of the men encouraging the other to confess had not been disclosed to the defence. As a result, the evidnece had been misused and the conviction was unsafe. A retrial was ordered in which the men were found to be not guilty.
