Eilish Enright was convicted of sexual abuse of her children. While living with her second husband, police arrived to arrest him on a charge of sexually abusing two children from her first marriage. She was later arrested too. Three of her children gave evidence against her. On appeal, the three children told how they had been pressurised by the police and social workers to make their statements. The Court of Appeal concluded it was impossible to know whether the original statement was true or the retraction was true, and therefore the conviction was unsafe.
