Andrew Gilbertson pleaded guilty to the theft of £24,870 from the Post Office, on the basis of evidence from the Horizon computer system suggesting a shortfall in his accounts. He received a six-month prison sentence which was suspended for two years.

His conviction was quashed when errors in the Horizon system were identified as the cause of the shortfall.
